Dec 22nd. A bittersweet day!
Jack, we hope you had a wonderful birthday. We imagined the other children and nannies singing to you and then you probably had a beautifully decorated cake. No doubt you had fun opening all the gifts Megan wrapped for you.
We had hoped to celebrate Jack's birthday by going out to eat at a restaurant of Megan's choice. This year that didn't happen because Jack's Grandpa(Granda Lee) was called home to Heaven on Jack's birthday, Dec 22nd. Jack and Granda would have loved each other.
"As for God, His way is perfect" Psalm 18:30
Maybe God has given us a reason to be joyful on this otherwise heartbreaking day. We will try to make a point of celebrating dad's life which was lived for God and praying also that Jack might become a man for God like his grandpa.

What a wonderful legacy Jack has. He has been prayed for by those who have since gone Home to their reward.
DeleteHow special.. that is my birthday too! Sorry you will always celebrate December 22 with bittersweet memories. The Lord gives and He takes away. His way is perfect, so we must say "Blessed be the Name of the Lord"!
ReplyDeleteI had noticed that Jack shared a birthday with you, Susanne. Like Cheryl said, maybe God has given us a reason to be joyful, on this otherwise sad date. It was also the date my grandmother (Dad's Mom) died. God makes no mistakes.
